Transforming Human Resources became a strategic priority for Ampleon to move away from manual processes that consumed valuable time and diverted focus from employee engagement. To enable a more efficient, people-centric approach, Ampleon implemented SAP SuccessFactors as a global HR IT system, partnering with Flexso for People to drive operational excellence and support future growth.

After becoming independent in 2015, Ampleon gradually built a new IT infrastructure, with its ERP system going live in 2017. However, HR was still running on a Microsoft Access database, with processes largely manual. This created challenges, particularly as data privacy and security demands increased. The system became overly reliant on the person who built the database, making it fragile, while too much time was spent managing core HR processes instead of supporting employees and managers.
Handling data from six countries manually became an overwhelming task. Combining, analyzing, and reporting data consumed significant time, keeping HR focused on administrative work rather than contributing to the business.
The realization that HR was too focused on administration drove Ampleon to initiate change. To remain competitive - especially in a market facing a severe shortage of electrical engineers and RF power specialists - the company recognized the need to evolve into a high-performance organization.
This shift required more than just attracting new talent. Retaining and developing existing employees, alongside building strong leadership programs, became essential. Ampleon decided to standardize, centralize, and automate all core HR processes through a global system: MyHR.
After evaluating three HCM packages, Ampleon selected SAP SuccessFactors, partnering with Flexso for People to lead the implementation.
SAP SuccessFactors offered extensive capabilities and integrated seamlessly with Ampleon’s existing SAP Finance and payroll systems. Flexso’s ability to bridge HR and IT made them the ideal partner. Having Dutch-speaking consultants who understood both disciplines provided an advantage, ensuring clearer communication and smoother collaboration. Additionally, Flexso’s international expertise was crucial for the system’s global rollout.
Sewnarain-Tahloe, an HR Transformation Consultant at Flexso for People, brought valuable insights from her extensive HR background. To grow, globalize, and embrace a data-driven approach, implementing and optimizing a global HRIT system was a strategic necessity.
Flexso’s Accelerators for SAP SuccessFactors enabled faster implementation while maintaining HR continuity. These accelerators provide standard solutions per module, built on HR best practices and tailored for mid-sized companies with growth ambitions. They include training and instructional materials at a fixed price, ensuring a structured and efficient rollout.
Following the system's launch, Flexso continues to provide support, enabling organizations to customize the system where necessary. The MyHR rollout progressed smoothly and remained within budget. A new project is underway to integrate the Dutch payroll system with Employee Central, reflecting Ampleon’s commitment to continuous HR transformation and optimization.
A key goal for Ampleon is to delegate responsibilities more broadly across the organization. This shift requires a cultural transformation, a new leadership approach, and a stronger focus on employee engagement. The company aims to fully leverage its internal talent, fostering a workforce capable of driving innovation and staying ahead of the competition.
Ampleon envisions 80 % of its future leadership emerging from within the company. Real-time HR insights and a dynamic performance management system are making this ambition achievable. The company has transitioned from managing employee goals in Word documents to an accessible online platform, empowering both employees and managers to engage more proactively with performance management.
The global HR IT system serves as an enabler for executing the HR strategy more effectively. Managers now have instant access to data on skills, education, salaries, and attendance across all Ampleon sites. This ensures faster, data-driven decision-making while maintaining agility.
Employees also benefit from self-service access to their data and time-off requests via an intuitive portal, available on both laptops and smartphones. This shift reduces administrative burdens, enabling HR to spend more time partnering with the business, understanding challenges, and driving improvements for the company and its people.
Ampleon remains committed to fostering pride and ownership among its workforce. As an international high-tech company, we empower professionals to lead and innovate, fostering pride and ownership to win with our customers.
